WHERE CAN I BUY ASKOLL ELECTRIC VEHICLES ONLINE?

Configure the electric scooter to suit you, and go to the order summary. Here you will be able to choose your payment method and confirm your order. You can either choose to pay a deposit, receive a purchase contract to be signed and pay for the order before delivery, or request a no-obligation finance quote. The quick online purchase procedure allows you to customise your order, choose the payment method most suited to your needs and upload—when required—the signed contract together with copies of your identity document and health insurance card via the personal area of the online store, thus enabling us to complete the administrative formalities. The vehicle will be registered, fitted with number plates and ready to drive on delivery. The vehicle will be delivered to your home address or the address specified when the order was placed.

HOW DO I ADD TO MY CART?

After clicking on the accessory or electric bike that you wish to purchase, you will be taken to a product page with all the details. You can select the quantity and click "Add to cart" to add the product to your shopping cart. You can then choose to complete your order and pay, or continue shopping at our online store.

HOW DO I PROCEED TO THE CHECKOUT?

When you have finished filling your shopping cart, you can enter the information requested and choose your payment method: credit card, prepaid card, PayPal, bank transfer or payment on delivery. All the financial information needed to complete your transaction will be transmitted, via encrypted protocol, to our partner banks which provide the relevant electronic payment services. No third parties have access to the data.

HOW DO I RECEIVE AN INVOICE FOR MY ORDER?

CAN I CHOOSE TO HAVE MY ORDER SHIPPED TO AN ADDRESS OTHER THAN MY HOME ADDRESS?

Of course. During checkout, you can choose the "Deliver to another address" option and provide the information required. Once an order has been paid for, it is quickly processed and handed over to the courier, and it is not possible to change the shipping address.

HOW ARE THE ACCESSORIES I ORDER PACKAGED?

Depending on the delivery location and quantity of products, various packaging systems are used to ensure these remain in excellent condition during transport.

HOW IS THE ELECTRIC BIKE I ORDER PACKAGED?

Electric bikes are shipped in their original packaging. Askoll bikes are fully assembled and adjusted by qualified technicians in our factory. The customer simply has to fit the pedals and reposition the handlebar in accordance with the instructions. These two parts are removed before shipping for safety reasons. Written information on how to fit wheels, seatposts, pedals and handlebars and the tools needed to do this are included when the bike is delivered.

HOW ARE ELECTRIC SCOOTERS DELIVERED?

The vehicle is registered, fitted with number plates and ready to drive when it leaves our factory. It is carefully packaged for transport to the delivery address. The packaging is easy to remove and dispose of because we are committed to a sustainable, eco-friendly approach.

HOW LONG DO ACCESSORIES TAKE TO DELIVER?

In Italy, deliveries typically arrive within two working days of receiving the dispatch notification email, but this may be longer if certain geographical areas are difficult to reach or the product or the recipient is unavailable.
In Europe, deliveries typically arrive within approximately 3-5 working days.

HOW LONG DO ELECTRIC SCOOTERS OR ELECTRIC BIKES TAKE TO DELIVER?

For e-scooters, after the vehicle has been paid for and all the documentation has been sent, the delivery time from order is approximately 4 working weeks.
For electric bikes, after receipt of payment, the delivery time is approximately 10 working days.
Any changes in delivery times can be communicated by customer care directly to the customer via email.

HOW DO I TRACK THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE ACCESSORIES I ORDERED?

When your order is collected by the courier, an email will be sent to the address specified during the purchasing stage or you will receive a text with a link enabling you to track your shipment. You can track the whereabouts of your order via the website of the courier tasked with the shipment.
If you have not received a verification email, check your junk or spam folders.

HOW DO I TRACK THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE ELECTRIC SCOOTER/ELECTRIC BIKE I ORDERED?

When your vehicle is dispatched, you will receive a message from the customer service team. The courier will then contact you directly to organise delivery to your home address.

IF THE PACKAGE CONTAINING MY ACCESSORIES IS DELIVERED DAMAGED BY THE COURIER, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If you receive a package from the courier sent by the Askoll Electric Online Store, which is visibly damaged, broken or stained, please reject the shipment. We will deal with the return and replacement of the shipment. Should the shipment include multiple packages and not all of them are damaged, please reject the damaged package only and sign the delivery slip "with reservations". In this instance, Askoll Electric Online Store will deal with the return and replacement of the products. Any shipping fees incurred as a result of the damaged package being sent back and a new one being delivered will be borne by the Askoll Electric Online Store.

WHAT CAN I DO IF THE PRODUCTS INSIDE ARE DAMAGED?

ARE ELECTRIC SCOOTERS ALREADY REGISTERED WHEN THEY ARRIVE?

Our electric scooters are registered, fitted with number plates and ready to drive when delivered. All the documents needed for insurance purposes are sent prior to delivery.

WHAT DIFFERENCES ARE THERE BETWEEN THE ES1 AND ES2?

The eS1 and eS2 are both 100% electric scooters that produce zero emissions. The main differences are: the former is a single-seater, while the latter can also carry a passenger; as standard, the former is equipped with one lithium ion battery, and the latter has two; the former delivers 1500 W power, while the latter delivers 3000 W; the former has a maximum torque of 100 Nm at the wheel, while the latter has 130 Nm at the wheel. Moreover, the eS2 comes with a spacious storage compartment at the front as standard, with a 12V socket that can be used to charge your phone.

WHAT DIFFERENCES ARE THERE BETWEEN THE ES2 AND ES3?

The eS2 and eS3 are practical, easy to manoeuvre two-seater scooters with double battery as standard. The power delivered and vehicle class set them apart: the eS3 scooter is a class L3 vehicle comparable to a 100cc bike, i.e. a vehicle with a motorcycle license plate, while the eS2 is a class L2 vehicle comparable to a 50cc bike, i.e. a moped with a small license plate.

IS THE ES3 A MOPED (EQUIVALENT TO A 50CC BIKE) TOO?

The eS3 is comparable to a 100cc endothermic bike: it can reach 70 km/h and travel up to 90 km on a single charge. Unlike the eS1 and eS2, with the eS3 you can ride on non-urban roads (excluding A roads and motorways) and you need a category-B licence to ride it.

WHAT MAJOR DIFFERENCES ARE THERE BETWEEN THE ES AND ESPRO RANGES? E.G. BETWEEN THE ES3 AND ESPRO 70?

The eSpro range is aimed at professional, VAT-registered clients (delivery companies for food and other goods, security and safety services, and many other businesses): they are 100% electric vehicles, with special features more suited to the professional activities for which they are used. The eS1, eS2 and eS3 are designed for our private customers.

ARE THERE SCOOTERS THAT I CAN RIDE WITHOUT INSURANCE AND A HELMET?

In Italy, the only vehicles allowed to travel without insurance and road tax are electric bicycles with a maximum speed of 25 km/h, a motor with a maximum power of 250 Watts and assisted rather than independent pedalling. All vehicles with higher speeds and/or motor capacity must have a number plate and be insured. There are some "scooters" on the market that are actually modified electric bicycles given the appearance of a scooter and with the addition of a manual accelerator. If a manual accelerator is fitted, the vehicle is a moped, and must by law carry a number plate and insurance.

HOW MANY KILOMETRES CAN I TRAVEL ON ONE CHARGE?

The eS1 electric scooter has a range of up to 40 km, and the eS2 up to 71 km, while the eS3 has a range of up to 96 km (in accordance with regulation (EU) 168 / 2013).

IS IT TRUE THAT COLD WEATHER REDUCES THE RANGE OF A SCOOTER?

Lithium-ion batteries are affected by the cold, so on the coldest days of the year, we recommend removing them from the vehicle and keeping them indoors (e.g. in your house): If you do this, the capacity of the batteries will remain intact when you put them back into the scooter. If you tried to start the vehicle with batteries left outdoors in sub-zero temperatures, the capacity would be depleted.

HOW LONG DO THE BATTERIES LAST IN KM?

Battery life depends on many factors and is affected by the use of the vehicle, so charging cycles cannot be calculated precisely. That said, the batteries allow you to travel tens of thousands of miles. After years of frequent, regular use, their range will deplete slightly: they will remain efficient and continue to work, but you will have to charge them more often.

CAN I RECHARGE THE BATTERY FROM ANY POWER SOCKET?

Yes, Askoll Lithium-ion batteries can be easily charged from any power socket at a cost of just 30 cents (based on an average nighttime rate of €0.15/kWh). Simply recharge the battery directly on the scooter, or take it out of the compartment under the saddle and connect it to the battery charger.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FULLY CHARGE THE ES1 BATTERY?

The battery for the eS1 takes approximately 3 hours from 0% to 100% charge, thanks to its powerful battery charger. The battery does not have to be totally empty before being connected to the power supply, nor does it have to be fully charged before disconnecting; partially charged batteries will not affect the performance of the vehicle in terms of torque and speed.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME TO RECHARGE AN ES2 SCOOTER BATTERY?

A full charge for the eS2 electric scooter battery costs €0.30 (based on an average nighttime rate of €0.15/kWh).

DO I NEED A LICENCE TO DRIVE AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER?

Yes, anyone, adult or minor, who intends to ride a moped (eS1 and eS2 models), must obtain a category AM driving licence, while to ride a motorcycle (eS3 model) a category A or B driving licence is required.

IS IT COMPULSORY TO WEAR A HELMET WHEN RIDING A SCOOTER?

Yes, to ride an electric scooter you must wear a helmet.

I CAN RIDE A BICYCLE IN LIMITED TRAFFIC ZONES; WHAT ABOUT A SCOOTER?

The regulations governing the circulation of electric vehicles in limited traffic zones vary from place to place: in some places, you can ride freely, while in others you either have to apply to the local council or riding may be prohibited (fortunately, this is rare). We recommend contacting your local authority: they will provide all the information you need.

CAN I RIDE MY SCOOTER ON MAJOR ROADS AND MOTORWAYS?

The eS1 and eS2 can only be used on urban roads. The eS3, however, can also be used on non-urban roads, except major roads and motorways, so it cannot travel on the Rome ring road, for example.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE INSURANCE TO RIDE AN ASKOLL SCOOTER?

Yes, to ride our scooters, you need insurance, but it is much cheaper when compared to an endothermic scooter. Moreover, road tax is free for 5 years.

WHEN SHOULD I GET MY FIRST SERVICE DONE? AFTER HOW MANY KM?

The first service should be done when you reach 1000 km, then repeated annually or when you have travelled another 1000 km.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN E-BIKE AND A PEDAL-ASSISTED BIKE?

E-Bike is the most common generic name for electric bikes. The term e-Bike includes both pedal-assisted electric bikes, which help the rider to reach a maximum speed of 25 km/h (these are also known as Pedelecs), and those which help the rider reach a maximum speed of 45 km/h (also known as S Pedelecs). Some people also use the term e-Bike in the strictest sense, to refer to vehicles in which motor operation is independent of pedal action. In actual fact, the correct term is “EPAC" (Electric Power Assisted Cycle), which refers specifically to pedal-assisted bikes that conform to standard EN 15194.

HOW MANY KILOMETRES CAN I COVER WHEN CHARGED?

Askoll electric bikes can travel up to 80 km with a fully charged battery and a low level of assistance.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE AN ASKOLL BIKE BATTERY?

It takes around 5 hours for an electric bike battery to go from 0% to 100%. That said, the battery does not have to be totally empty before being connected to the power supply, nor does it have to be fully charged before disconnecting: you can even charge it on a daily basis—as you are used to doing with your smartphone—without affecting the performance of the vehicle at all!

HOW MUCH DOES ONE RECHARGE CYCLE COST?

One recharge cycle for an electric bike battery costs just €0.05 (based on an average nighttime rate of €0.15/kWh).

CAN I RECHARGE THE BATTERY FROM ANY POWER SOCKET?

Yes, Askoll lithium-ion batteries can be conveniently recharged from any household power socket. Simply remove the battery (it weighs less than 3kg) and connect it to the mains. It charges quickly, reaching a maximum range of 80 km. If you are in a hurry, it can be partially charged as well: 15 minutes of charging provides 5 km of travel at assistance level 1.

CAN I RIDE A FEW KILOMETRES UPHILL WITH MY BIKE?

It all depends on the gradient and length of the climb. Our pedal-assisted bicycles can easily cope with gradients of 11%; of course, the longer the climb, the more the range is reduced.

WHAT QUALITY GUARANTEES DOES AN ASKOLL ELECTRIC BIKE OFFER?

Askoll pedal-assisted bikes are all fitted with high-quality components to ensure that they are safe and long-lasting. Moreover, our e-bikes are EC-marked and comply with the following standards: EN14764, which regulates safety requirements and testing methods for "City and trekking bikes"; EN15194, which specifies the requirements and testing methods for motor power management systems and electric circuits, including recharging systems; EMC97/24/CEE Electromagnetic compatibility for 2 and 3-wheeled vehicles and their components; this standard ensures that the electric/electronic part does not emit any interference that could affect the operation of nearby electronic devices.

Our vehicles are 100% electric. They are designed and manufactured in Italy, as are their highly sophisticated components (battery, electronic control unit, motor): everything is developed in-house. Even the automated processes needed to manufacture and test vehicles are designed and produced by Askoll. The design reflects their unmistakable Made in Italy quality. TO WHAT EXTENT ARE ASKOLL'S ELECTRIC BIKES AND ELECTRIC SCOOTERS GUARANTEED?

The warranty takes effect at 00.00 hours on the day the electric vehicle is delivered by the authorised Askoll sales outlet to the purchaser (hereinafter "customer" for the sake of brevity) and lasts: (a) 24 (twenty-four) months for electric vehicles sold to customers designated as "consumers", pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 206 of 6 September 2005 (hereinafter the “Italian Consumer Code") or any applicable national regulations (hereinafter "consumers" for the sake of brevity); (b) 12 (twelve) months for electric vehicles sold to customers who are not consumers, i.e. professionals, legal entities, and private or public bodies (hereinafter "professionals" for the sake of brevity).

ARE ASKOLL ELECTRIC SCOOTERS STANDARDISED FOR USE IN MY COUNTRY?
