To check which type of battery charger you have, simply check the number of LEDs on the charger:
If it has 3 LEDs, it is the smart-charger (product code: 9V039000) and is therefore compatible with the splitter;
If it has 5 LEDs, you have an older charger and therefore it is not compatible with the splitter.
